- Price – The culmination of all of the above comes down to price. Are the criteria above worth the price it’s marketed for? That’s what we check out when reviewing their pricing.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the criteria we judge each host by, let’s dive into a summary of the best web hosting solutions of 2019.

GreenGeeks has a surprisingly fast ping rate. Clocking in at 178 MS, it is one of the fastest ping rates of any website host we have tested. Their performance when it comes to web server capacity is pretty high, but not at the level of a host like Siteground.
This hosting platform is one of the first to advertise as environmentally friendly, using clean energy to host all websites.
Outside of that, they have a great range of features that make them a great hosting platform. Unlimited space, bandwidth, and domains are great features to have if you are looking to host multiple websites on the same server. 6. GoDaddy – Most Popular Web Host / Business Host ($5.99/mo)

Probably one of the most well-known website hosting providers is GoDaddy. They are a HUGE provider when it comes to both domain names and website hosting, their brand is definitely well known.
FEATURES
- Unlimited Websites
- Unlimited Storage

- Free business email
CONS

STATS

UPTIME – AVERAGE OF 99.97%
Being one of the most popular and well-known brands, GoDaddy has a strong performance when it comes to hosting. They provide strong high-quality website hosting, at a higher price then you would normally see from other web hosting platforms.
While GoDaddy is known for being very stable and powerful, they are also notoriously bad with their customer support. I would highly recommend going with GoDaddy for business hosting and or if you do not need any assistance when it comes to technical problems.
They provide a free business email and domain with annual plans, which is a great service if you are looking to start a business-oriented website.
Some features are limited to the more expensive plans, things such as Free SSL certificates and some of the more powerhouse level servers you would need if running a larger website.
GoDaddy makes it this far up the list due to its business esque features, which give users some powerful tools when creating business-oriented websites.
Overall, GoDaddy is a premium hosting platform with rather bad customer support. I would only recommend using this hosting platform if you are starting a business website. As they have some wonderful features for businesses.

PROS
- Superbly Cheap Plans
- Easy Website Builder
- 24/7 Support
CONS
- Lacks Features
STATS
PING – AVERAGE OF 369 MS
UPTIME – AVERAGE OF 99.91%
Hostinger is an amazing web host that has THE lowest prices for plans you will find out of any platforms. While they do have very cheap hosting options, its a bit of a trade off due to some of the lack of features.
They do boast a 99% uptime with a 370 MS ping, which is actually very high; But they do start to dip off when you start looking at the extra features they provide.
The biggest feature they give you is their easy website builder, which helps you design your website, much like the service Wix.
Overall, I would say Hostinger is a great host for a very cheap price and is wonderful if you are looking for a very simple web host without all the feature fluff. You get the core performance and hosting stats, while giving up the extra features, for such an amazing price point.
8. A2Hosting – Fast Website Host ($3.92/mo)

When it comes to speed, A2Hosting has your back. They boast some of the lowest ping rates around.
FEATURES
- Unlimited Bandwidth
- Unlimited Storage
- Free SSL

- Free Site Transfer
- Good Usability
- Money Back Guarantee
CONS
- A Bit More Expensive
STATS
PING – AVERAGE OF 300 MS
UPTIME – AVERAGE OF 99.92%
A2Hosting is one of the smaller, under the radar, hosting providers. While they are fairly small, they pack a pretty mean bite. Their hosting plans provide you with some very fast ping and load times.
Every plan comes super optimized and tailored to your websites needs to make sure they are running as fast as possible. And this is mainly where a2hosting beats the rest of the competition. From a pure speed standpoint.
When it comes to usability, their platform is pretty easy to navigate, although not the easiest. Feature-wise, A2Hosting has some of the nice features you see accompanying many premium hosting plans such as Unlimited bandwidth, storage, and Free SSL certificates.
Price wise, A2Hosting is a bit different. They have 4 hosting plans each quite a bit different than each other. Shared hosting starts at $3.92 a month, VPS Hosting at $5.00 a month, Reseller hosting at $13.10 a month and Dedicated Hosting at $99.59 a month.
With these plans comes a lot of diversity when it comes to hosting, whether you are looking to host your own blog site or host your own customers, A2Hosting has your back.
Overall, A2Hosting is a great solid and reliable platform with great speed performance with many different hosting options.
9. Dreamhost- Variety Web Host ($2.59/mo)

Dreamhost boats a bunch of variety when it comes to web hosting. They give you options for Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, VPS Hosting, Website Building, Dedicated Hosting, and Cloud Hosting.
FEATURES
- Unlimited Bandwidth
- Unlimited Storage
- Free SSL
- Free Domain for 1st year
PROS
- Variety of hosting options
- Great Uptime
CONS
- Slow Performance
STATS
PING – AVERAGE OF 719 MS
UPTIME – AVERAGE OF 99.96%
This variety hosting platform is useful for quite a number of reasons. One of the biggest reasons this host made the top 10 is its ability to host so many different types of websites. Whether you are looking for VPS, Cloud, WordPress, Shared or Dedicated, Dreamhost is able to host it.
Dreamhost falls behind when it comes to speed and performance, having one of the lowest performing speeds of any platform on this list. They make up for this in sheer reliability.
When it comes to usability, Dreamhost is middle of the pack they have a great user interface for managing domains and websites, but lack some of the crucial tools for fine-tune control such as cPanel.
Overall, I would say Dreamhost is a great host for those looking to host a variety of different websites and don’t want to use multiple platforms; But be warned that this comes at the cost of some performance.
10. iPage – Small Up and Comer ($1.99/mo)

iPage is a newer hosting option that’s been growing bigger lately. While it still has a ways to go to catch up to some of the more popular hosts, it does have some pretty unique features.
FEATURES
- $100 Adwords offer
- $100 Bing credits
- Free Security Tools (SiteLock)
- Drag & Drop Site Builder
PROS
- Enhanced Security Options
- Great Uptime
- Environmentally Friendly
CONS
- Expensive Domains
- No cPanel
STATS
PING – AVERAGE OF 787 MS
UPTIME – AVERAGE OF 99.97%
iPage has some rather unique features like SiteLock, Adwords + Bing Credits and a Free Drag and Drop Site Builder. Performance wise, iPage suffers a bit having an average ping of 787 MS. They have a good uptime of 99.97% and have a pretty good customer support team.
But that’s where we start to see some flaws in iPage’s hosting. With bad performance also comes a lack of features. They do not support cPanel, which can be crucial for fine-tune control over your servers and domains. They overcharge a LOT for domains currently.
Overall, I would only recommend iPage as an up and comer. I believe they will be adding additional features as the year goes by and improve upon their raw stats.
How to Choose Which Webhost is Best for You
Many web hosting providers have a lot of different options to choose from when it comes to hosting plans.
Let’s go over some of the plans you might encounter with each hosting platform.
What is Shared Hosting?
Shared hosting is a server that hosts multiple websites simultaneously. This is one of the most popular and cheapest methods of hosting a website.
While you will benefit from cheap hosting, you will find that with this hosting option you will have limited resources. When many websites are hosted on the same server
all of the resources such as RAM, Storage and Bandwidth are shared between each and every website on the server. This can mean that your website can slow down, if one or more of the other sites are taking up to many of those resources.
Usually, the hosting provider will limit the number of resources each contained website can use.
*Note – While a lot of platforms say “Unlimited Bandwidth, Storage, Databases, Etc.” you will find that if you go above a certain amount of these resources, many hosts will start to pressure you to upgrade or limit the speed of the site.
What is Cloud Hosting?
Cloud hosting is similar to shared hosting in the fact that many websites are on the same platform. But in this case the platform is not a dedicated PC, but rather the culmination of many different PC’s working together to host a massive number of websites.
This type of hosting is far more efficient when it comes to sharing resources across the many websites it may host and allows a couple of additional features you will not find in shared hosting; Features such as enhanced security.
Many of these plans are much more “pay as you go” oriented, so many of them have less stringent long term contracts.
What is WordPress Hosting?
WordPress hosting is a very specialized type of hosting for, you guessed it, only WordPress websites. You will find that many servers that offer “WordPress” hosting are using either Shared Hosting or Cloud Hosting that has been optimized specifically for the CMS WordPress.
This means that you can get a lot of extra speed, load time and customizability for the same price and same resources. Basically, this is a super optimized setup for WordPress and should be your go-to hosting option if you are looking to start a WordPress website or blog.
Our Review Process
When it comes to reviewing and ranking all our these web hosting solutions we go above an beyond in research. We’ve personally used all of these web hosting platforms to make sure our information is as accurate as possible.
Heres how we come by our reviews on each of the criteria we rank these website hosts with.
Performance
We like statistics when it comes to performance. It’s a bit harder to gauge if your using opinion’s to determine which hosts have better raw performance then others. As such we use a couple of different methods to take count of these stats. One of the main tools we use to capture these results is Pingdom.
Using Pingdom we are able to ping each server in intervals of an hour over the course of months. We combine these results with our research to come with an average for each website.
Usability
Usability is a big component we look at for every web hosting provider. We find that giving users a better interface improves the overall experience and allows users to optimize and create more websites in much less time. As such its a crucial factor in the consideration of a web hosting solution’s rankings.
We personally use each of these services and evaluate their user interface based on how easy it is to navigate, change options, and control/manage each server, host, and domain.
Capabilities
The features in which each host provide are one of the core ranking factors for hosting providers. Outside of the raw performance statistics, these features are what give each hosting platform a specialization (An audience to which they are best suited). We take an in-depth look at what the hosting platform offers and find out what type of audience would most benefit from these features.
For instance, free domains and site builders are great features for the users looking to create their first website; Where those same features are not nearly as beneficial to advanced users who may already have domain names and custom themes designed. While high performance and the ability to optimize and fine-tune each server would be a crucial feature for advanced users.
Support
When reviewing customer support teams, we look at three crucial components. Availability, Response time, and Resolution Throughput. We review and research a lot of reviews, and personally test each of the support teams of the reviewed hosts to make sure that they excel in all three of these areas.
Uptime
Uptime is another core statistic that we use from our research. We combine this with our own tests we perform with Pingdom.
Pricing
The final factor when reviewing these web hosting platforms is pricing. We take into account not only the long term contract pricing, but shorter-term pricing as well to see how well these prices stack against the competition.
Overall
All of these criteria combined for each hosting provider culminates into a final score of how well they stack up compared to the competition. We also judge what audience the hosting provider would be most beneficial too because many of these hosting options have very similar core stats with different feature sets.
The entire goal of these reviews is to help make the decision of which web hosting provider to choose, easy.
Hopefully, with these reviews, we did just that.
